We recently covered The Mouse Trap Birthday Celebration event. The event, presented by Livin Dreams Entertainment & Aquemini Management, was in celebration of San Antonio hip hop artist, Redlipstickmouse’s birthday. It was a star-studded affair, with special guest appearances by other San Antonio artists, including city hip hop legend, King Kyle Lee, and his wife, as with a special performance by Wreckin (formerly known as Wreckin Ralph).
Redlipstickmouse and her husband, Kenneth Durant (also known as KDawg), also a San Antonio rapper, who make up the hip hop duo, “Mouse Meets Dawg”, recently met hip hop recording artist, Tobe Nwigwe, and wife Fat in Houston, TX, at an event, where they were given the opportunity to spit for Tobe and Fat.
Heavenly Rivers was on point for an exclusive interview, which is posted on the official TX FLAMA YouTube:
Interview Transcript:
Redlipstickmouse: What’s up!!! It’s your girl, Redlipstickmouse, baby!! Hold up!
Heavenly Rivers: What’s good yall!
Heavenly Rivers: How did you get into music?
Redlipstickmouse: Music has always been a part of me. I’ve been rapping since I was 11 years old, and I just always loved it. Umm, I would like, sit at my computer, and like, find beats on YouTube, and I would just like rap over them… And so I’ve just always been into it.
When I was in middle school and high school, I was always involved in those like freestyle circles, and all that sh*t. And then, I mean, music has always just been a big part of my life.., like, oldies got introduced to me when I was little. So every genre, really like, I’m cool with it.
But it really solidified when I met my husband in 2014. That’s when it solidified, because he’s always been into music, he’s been a rapper, and so it made me feel more confident to like, come out of my shell, and like, bring that forward, you know what I mean?
Heavenly Rivers: You know, I saw recently you have a TikTok video out with Tobe and Fat, how was that experience?
Redlipstickmouse: Ohh yeah, that sh*t was fire. That experience was absolutely immaculate. An immaculate experience, because, we just like, did that sh*t. We got the tickets, and we know, we got the Q & A, and we were like, you know what, let’s spit a verse for him. He told me that, and I was like, let’s f*ckin’ do it, let’s f*ckin’ do it, we’ll do 16 bars. And so when we were there, he was like, “Okay, like sure, like 8 bars”. So we were going and he was getting live as f*ck, and we just kept going, we gave 16 bars. And he was vibing out, like he had professional people like, recording that sh*t. We have been tagging him in it, but he hasn’t seen it yet, from our perspective, so we’re still tag-we’re still tagging him.
Heavenly Rivers: Girl, yall went off, yall showed him how Texas do it!
Redlipstickmouse: Yes, we were showing him how San Antonio pulls up to everything, you know what I’m sayin’?
Heavenly Rivers: Yes girl, yes!
Redlipstickmouse: It was a great experience.
Heavenly Rivers: Shout out to Mouse and KDawg they doing things for San Antonio.
Redlipstickmouse: Thank you so much! I love yall.
